The Alternate Wave - What does it do?

HOME
Close up of water-generated effect on sandbed The invention is a device used to generate waves of a certain nature in a confined body of water.

There are many benefits to having this type of water movement in an aquarium or other confined body of water. These waves generate motion in the water that allows suspended particles to remain in the water column. The motion causes soft-bodied invertebrates such as corals and anemones as well as marine plants, to sway in a way that is natural and pleasing to the eye. When used in a marine reef aquarium the wave generator benefits corals and other marine life by providing motion in the water that is similar to that found in the natural environment. The waves generate the type of water movement that aides in the feeding process as well as providing a means of transporting dissolved gases and waste products to and from the aquarium inhabitants.
Waste and detritus suspended by the wave action are more easily and quickly removed from the water column by filtration systems such as protein skimmers and particulate filtration devices.
